August 16th (Saturday) - Meet Govrnor Chris Gregoire at Olympic College Student Center at 11:00 am.
August 17th (Sunday) - Kitsap Democratic Annual Picninc at Jarstad Park in Gorst. Kitsap Women will draw for their quilt at this picnic.
August 19th (Tuesday) - Primary ballots must be in today!.

Volunteers are needed immediately; no experience necessary, we'll show you what to do and how to do it. If you have some spare time and would like help, give the office a call at 698-6833. |

John Arena Passes
Many of you may have known John Arena. He was a long-time active Democrat from Gorst, a giant of a man in all respects. He died late last week from a very fast-acting cancer. He will be greatly missed. Not only did he do a lot for us as a political community, he was kind and had a wonderful sense of humor. I didn't know him well but I always felt at home in his presence. John was a great friend of our candidates.
His service was held Friday, August 1st, at 2 PM at Rill Chapel, 1511 Mitchell Ave, in Port Orchard.

Special guests at the Kitsap County Democrat Party Central Committee meeting included Rep. Norm Dicks, State Rep. Larry Seaquest, State Sen. Derek Kilmer, County Commisioner Steve Bauer, County Commisioner Josh Brown, County Auditor Walt Washington, State Supreme Court Justice Charles Johnson as well as most of our county candidates.
Our next meeting is August 17th, and it is our Picnic at Jarsted Park 12 noon 'til 3:00 pm!
