Process of Kitsap County Democratic Central Committee Nomination for County Clerk
Dave Peterson, a Democrat and our current County Clerk, retires as of August 4th. We are starting the process of filling the upcoming vacancy.
County Clerk is the chief administrative and financial officer for the Superior Court. The duties of the County Clerk are mainly administrative, budgetary, and personnel-related. The County Clerk does not set government policy (the purview of County Commissioners), but follows the RCW’s that spell out what the office does.
