Hi Diane,

I went over to the stone shop yesterday afternoon and looked at what they had. I took picture of possibles and they are below, along with my opinon of the stone. Unfortunately, some of the pics, the ones with the sample next to it, were shot at an such angle as to not get an acurate comparison, because of way the flash reflected from the sample. Oh well, I tried, but you can still get a reasonable idea of the comparisons.

Just so I'm clear, the sample is the piece of flooring that I took to the shop, not the stone we might buy.

	Slate I think I liked this one the best. It is a smooth surface with these cool waves in the stone. There was another slate that I ttok a picture of that has some how been deleted from the camera. I don't understand it. At any rate, this second slate has a textured top and is almost the same color. I think the textured top would be a problem in setting things (like a glass or container of some kind) on it.
